1. Poet-cum-critic Raphael Rubinstein created the Silo as a revisionist “dictionary” and database for contemporary art.

2. After New Directions released a series of Clarice Lispector retranslations, Bookforumpublished Rachel Kushner’s article on Lispector’s idiosyncratic prose and the biographical inklings therein.

3. Spencer Clark aka Monopoly Child Star Searchers compiled this mix for Volcanic Tongue, comprised of artists soon to be released on Clark’s label, Pacific City Sound Visions.

4. Artist Llyn Foulkes performed at the Armand Hammer Museum of Art and Culture Center at UCLA with his renowned Machine, a one-man band amalgam of percussion, xylophone, car horn, and bass.

Foulkes’s career retrospective is up through September 1 at the New Museum.
